TNR Project

• Shelly and Kimsies were at the feral colony today, trapping more cats for TNR. (Lorie N was also there, helping to transport the cats.) As of about 15:15, they’d trapped three boys (Caleb, Tallon, and Neal) and one girl (Raven). They have plans to trap two more. (I believe they have appointments scheduled for one more girl and one more boy.)
• The next update indicated that they’d finally trapped Enara — the ever elusive Enara, who liked to taunt them by stepping into the cages when she was pregnant or nursing but otherwise skillfully avoided being trapped.
• The final total was six cats: three boys, three girls. (The sixth one is named Pansy. She was also new to the feeding station.) Shelly mentioned that the girls will be brought back to TKHQ from LAPS after their spays and put in the Feral Recovery Ward with Satine and Shiloh.

LAPS staff and volunteers have been very good about posting the videos of the various visits with Queen Amidala and the kittens to their Livestream page, so if you miss any visit, you can go to http://livestream.com/accounts/14083503/starwars to watch them. (Note: It’s not always easy to tell what day a video is from — Livestream uses relative time, i.e. “xx days ago”, for posts and Zulu Time, which is currently eight hours ahead of PST, for comments — but they are in reverse chronological order on the page.)

Christmas Decoration Kittens

Alicia tries to broadcast a Periscope with the kittens every night at around 20:00 PST. Because Periscope videos are only viewable on/in Periscope for 24 hours, I record the videos and upload them to YouTube.

• Ribbon had her spay surgery today at Yorkson Creek Veterinary Hospital. She’ll be back at Alicia’s overnight and then will be heading to her new forever home tomorrow.

Feral Colony

Feral Recovery Ward

Note: Satine and Shiloh are currently only viewable on the TinyKittens VIP cam, which you can access for a monthly or annual fee.

• Satine has been actively playing and exploring when the dreaded humans aren’t around, and she allows pettings and offers up purrs. She’s still nervous, though. Shiloh is very vocal about wanting out (I swear, she sounds like Chamberlain Skeksis from “The Dark Crystal”), but she also plays some and explores a bit when she and Satine are alone. Shelly will continue to monitor their progress before determining whether or not to keep them at TKHQ or to return them to the colony and continue to work with them there.
• The Visits:
  • Suzanne visited in the early afternoon. She coaxed Satine into eating a can of wet food and got some good petting in, but Shiloh was not similary coaxed.
  • Shelly stopped in briefly late at night.

Holly’s Singles Pad

• Holly is currently enjoying the single gal life in the other upstairs room, the room Mary recently vacated. Everyone, Holly included, seems much happier with these arrangements though Holly says she’d really love a full-time human of her own to hang out with.
• BIG NEWS! Holly has found her new forever home, in a house with another cat. (They are fully aware of the need for a slow and careful introduction, but Shelly thinks Holly will do fine with one other cat.) We were able to watch Shelly pack Holly’s tiny suitcase, and Holly’s new family picked her at around 18:00.
• The Visits:
  • Shelly visited. (This was not on cam, but was before she came in to hang out with the romper room kittens.)
  • Suzanne came to visit while Shelly was in with the romper room kittens. (Shelly then switched the cam feed over.)
  • Kimsies arrived to visit while Suzanne was in the room and they visited her together. After Suzanne went to visit with the romper room kittens, Shelly joined Kimsies in with Holly. (Shelly switched the cam feed back over to the romper room after a few minutes.)
  • Shelly visited with Holly while packing her suitcase. Holly’s new human visited with Holly and Shelly on-cam after this, before taking Holly to her new forever home.

Formerly-Feral Mega Romper Room

• Nicholas has been matched with a family, though he won’t be heading to his new forever home until his second negative PCR test and his neuter surgery next week. There are some single apps for Jingle and Noelle, but none for Elf or Joy yet. Shelly would love Elf and Noelle to go together to the same home.
