LAPS:

Feral Colony Cats

Note: Tellar is temporarily residing with Foster Mom Jules so that he can get used to being in a home environment. Eaton and Rio are still together at the shelter.

Tellar

• Julia took Tellar in to LAPS today for his vaccinations. She had thought he might enjoy having a little visit/play time with Rio and Eaton afterwards, but I think the room stresses him out too much. She had a Periscope while there were there.
  
• She had another Periscope later that evening at her home.
  

Rio and Eaton

• Rio tried to get close to Tellar, but he was too stressed out by the room and kept squeezing in under the lowest tier of the Kuranda tower.

Star Wars Litter

LAPS staff and volunteers have been easing up on posting videos of the kittens as we head towards adoption day, but you can go to http://livestream.com/accounts/14083503/starwars to watch the Livestream of this litter live. (Note: It’s not always easy to tell what day a video is from — Livestream uses relative time, i.e. “xx days ago”, for posts and Zulu Time, which is currently eight hours ahead of PST, for comments — but they are in reverse chronological order on the page.)

The cams and Livestream feeds

On Thursday, February 4, Shelly set up a new Livestream event for the Feral Recovery Room. This was so that she could set up a new cam on Noelle and Elf downstairs at TKHQ.

So we now have three live streaming webcams at TKHQ. The various room cams (currently the feral recovery room, the romper room, and NoElf’s room) get swapped around among the three feeds so at any given point, you really have to check the feed to see what room it’s showing:

• The Jingle Bell’s Romper Room of Delight stream
• The Feral Recovery Room stream
• The TinyKittens VIP cam stream — Wherever it’s pointing at any given moment, this special stream/feed is only accessible for a monthly or annual fee. (Consider it a way to donate to TinyKittens monthly, with the VIP cam feed as a perk.)

As of about 10 AM, the romper room feed was showing the romper room, the feral recovery ward feed was showing the feral recovery room, and the VIP feed was showing NoElf’s room.

General Notes

• Gwen and her son were at TKHQ today to assemble a bunch of things that needed assembling.
• Shelly was actually wearing two pairs of matching socks. I…I…just don’t know what to say. It’s like we don’t even know her anymore. 😉

Feral Recovery Ward

Current residents:

• Tiger/Buffy has officially found his new forever home. He’ll be staying at TKHQ until February 18 (to allow his URI to clear up and for his neuter surgery on Friday). He will be moving to Vancouver Island, where he’ll have two seven-month-old sisters and a dog.

• The Visits:
  • Shelly visited in the morning. Satine is sneezy. Shelly brought her into her lap to get her eye drops and so that Shelly could give Satine’s acne-prone chin a good cleaning. (The acne may have been a reaction to the plastic bowls they’d been using; they’ve switch to stainless steel.)
  • Alicia visited in the afternoon.
  • Shelly visited again in the evening.

Formerly-Feral Mega Romper Room

This is the room where Comet, Mistletoe, Jingle, and Nicholas are currently residing until they head to their forever homes. It’s frequently the room that is viewable only on the VIP stream.

• No updates yet today.
• The Visits:
  • Shelly visited in the morning.
    • She brought in new blankets and fresh food. She moved their favourite clear plastic bin into the corner and adjusted the ceiling cam in that corner to point down at the bin.
    • Comet’s lymph node is still swollen.
    • He and Mistletoe should have a Facebook page at some point. Shelly doesn’t know what happened to Holly Belle’s page — she will ask. It’s a wonderful home, with humans that adore Holly.
    • She mentioned that she’d gotten an application for one of the ferals that she needed to check up on. (This is presumably the ultimately successful application for Tiger/Buffy mentioned above.)
    • She’s going to submit PCRs tests on Tuesday. (Tomorrow is Family Day in BC and Mountain View will likely be closed.)
  • Alicia visited in the afternoon.
  • Shelly visited again in the evening.

NoElf Room

This is the room downstairs where Noelle and Elf are currently residing, on their own while Noelle’s ringworm status is still positive.
