Recap Notes:
- Sorry, I’ve been working long shifts over the last several days so the last couple of recap pages are (clearly) delayed. But I’m working on them. Keep checking back. 🙂
LAPS:
Star Wars Litter
LAPS staff and volunteers have been very good about posting the videos of the various visits with Queen Amidala and the kittens to their Livestream page, so if you miss any visit, you can go to http://livestream.com/accounts/14083503/starwars to watch them. (Note: It’s not always easy to tell what day a video is from — Livestream uses relative time, i.e. “xx days ago”, for posts and Zulu Time, which is currently eight hours ahead of PST, for comments — but they are in reverse chronological order on the page.)
- Today’s visits/videos on Livestream (in chronological order, titles from actual posts):
Christmas Decoration Kittens
Alicia tries to broadcast a Periscope with the kittens every night at around 20:00 PST. Because Periscope videos are only viewable on/in Periscope for 24 hours, I record the videos and upload them to YouTube.
- Alicia had her nightly Periscope session with the kittens.
Winter Kittens
- Scampy kittens in a Christmas tree.

Mary
- Morning: Mary came back to TKHQ from the emergency clinic. The clinic discovered a tiny heartbeat while looking at the ultrasound. They warn that the chances are very slim that the baby will survive, but Shelly wants to give it that tiny chance, and hopes for a Christmas miracle. (The baby’s bones haven’t formed yet, so it is still 20+ days away from its hoped-for birthday.)
[fbvideo link=”https://www.facebook.com/tinykittens/videos/975829175825280/?permPage=1″ width=”500″ height=”400″ onlyvideo=”0″] - Afternoon: Mary has been added to snuggle rotation. Because of iso protocol, where you go from cleanest room to “dirtiest”, Mary is the first cat that snugglers visit, followed by the big kids room downstairs, and then the romper room. While Lawana was visiting with her this afternoon, Mary started having contractions. She climbed into Lawana’s lap and proceeded to expel three extremely early and non-viable fetuses that had passed previously. It’s too early to say whether the baby who belongs to that tiny heartbeat heard at the emergency vet was one of the fetuses Mary expelled, or if it is still hanging in there.
- Evening: Shelly has a private camera set up in the room upstairs so that she can keep an eye on Mary. She switched the romper room feed over to it during her evening visit so that everyone could see how Mary was doing. (Mary is doing really well. No new blood. No distress. She’s eating a lot.) Mary is a very sweet cat — she clearly had extensive human contact before, but has been living a hard life for some time judging by her body condition and ear mites. She’s been given Revolution and Profender for the various parasites and is being kept safe and warm and well-fed.
